SADD was founded on the simple philosophy that young people, empowered to help each other, are the most effective force in prevention. For more than a quarter-century, SADD has been recognized as a national leader in alcohol and drug education and prevention. In every community, the world of teenagers becomes more and more complex. Substance abuse, violence, suicide, negative influences on body image, and glorification of lowered value standards are threats to teens' well-being. With its expansion of focus to include destructive decisions outside of solely drinking and driving, SADD has become the premier youth-based education and prevention organization in America and maintains the ability to play a leading role in effective, evidence-based prevention programming.

Are you up for more theatre? Would you be interested in directing a One-Act? Or playing in one? Maybe tech'ing??
As thespians, you have a great opportunity to affect your audience. You do this each time you step onto the stage! Theatre for Dramatic Effect is a program that focuses on raising awareness and promoting safe and heathy decisions for your peers and adults alike!
What does this mean? Well, CO SADD would help you to select a show from a pre-selected set of One-Act scripts and would pay for the licensing two performances of the show you choose. You would have up to two months to put together your production for presentation. Depending on COVID restrictions, we will look at a "Radio Play" presentation. After COVID restrictions are lifted, your production may be taken to area groups/schools for presentations and actor talk-backs.
Another option would be for a student (or troupe) to write their own One Act script for production. Original work would address difficult issues facing young people - such as mental health, social/emotional health, physical or even financial health. Traffic Safety (impaired driving) is of particular interest!
